Our brand is NOT green...?

or is it? - 02/25/2011

The emergence of our new architectural services division allowed for a strategic rebranding opportunity for Hamilton&Associates. The effort involved a complex evaluation of the core competencies of our business, highlighting the robust portfolio of our new team, their passion for the practice and of course STATIONARY. Yes, even in a marketing world dominated by new media resources, we still need business cards and still write personal notes (by hand.)

Thus, our new stationary has been printed in its entirety on FSC certified stock.

FSC?

Beyond an architecture firm’s adherence to green building principles, professional certifications, projects with LEED nutrition facts, an institutional passion for sustainable solutions is paramount. To borrow a phrase from the recent American Institute of Architects Campaign for Green, ‘we are (trying to) walk the walk (too!)’ By their own description, The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)”is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests.”

“The U.S. is the largest market for paper products in the world, producing 90 million tons of paper annually and, in-turn, consuming about 100 million tons.  Despite improved technologies…only 35% of current consumption is met by using recycled fiber…Roughly 25% by volume of timber cut annually in the US is used for paper production.” (Statistics courtesy of FSC)  Simply put, “FSC-certified paper and print products contribute to conservation, responsible management, and community level benefits for people near the forests that provide your paper.”

In our work we are passionate about place and community. So this choice was simple and the cards look good too.

…By all means, here is one of my cards. Let’s talk

Well, thank you! Green should not be difficult just a principled way to approach design.
